It has reached a point that it is very unbearable and it has seriously affected my outlook in life.

I just need it to stop for now and focus on being more more positive and productive in real life without the distraction and feeling of being "not good enough". Hopefully, when I get back to the dating scene, I will be happier and more confident about myself. In the meantime, I plan to improve my health and fitness, focus on my career, and clear up my ever-growing to do list. Anyone else have taken a break from gay dating apps to work on themselves?

When you get back to dating maybe you should join some sporting clubs or gay game nights. The apps are for hookups mostly. That's not dating. I completely agree with you man! I'm proud of you! In particular, I like having enough room to specify what I absolutely don't want without sounding miserable and negative. The character limit on Grindr profiles makes the service shallower and more impersonal than scruff. Yeah but most guys don't even put text.. Surge is also another good app. Its kind of like Tinder but more features and, in my opinion, better design.

I've tried that one, but there were just not enough guys around me active on it to bother with. I wanted control back over my life. I feel like im so much more free without them.
